A Monthly Battle & The Snow

So I had a horrible eating week, one of those weeks when NOTHING gets you full.  You crave everything, everything being nothing healthy and everything BAD.  I over ate pretty much all week, there was maybe two days where I didn't completely blow my day.

I'm not sure why... I mean I know part of it is just being a girl and what we go through on a monthly basis. Some months are worse than others, this happen to be an all around bad month for me.  Nothing could get me full and I wanted sweets.  I don't usually crave sweets, I like them... I just don't USUALLY crave them that much... however, if you've read my blog (over the last year) you'd know that it occasionally happens.  Unfortunately this was the week.

I also haven't been to water aerobics in a week and a half.  BTW I will be back to it starting tonight... just a lot of conflicts over the last week and a half.

The other part is the friggin weather... I know I'm making excuses but I live in MN - and we got dumped on 3 times in the last week with snow.  It sucks. We're all tired of it and all I want to do is be outside - much like the rest of the state.  We've actually started to refuse to shovel now.  Shit, it's April.  Snow stops in March!

Anyway I think that also has a lot to do with what I've been eating.  Cold makes you crave hearty (and by hearty I mean hamburgers, fries, beer, etc.) foods.  So with that said, I must tell you my results of course :(  I gained 3.8, yes 3.8 lbs this week.  Like I said, BAAADDD week!  And now I have to hit that 80lb mark AGAIN!  UGHHH.

All I can do now is just move on and not think about it.

I can think about the good things I did this week...  I'm still training for the 5k.  I'm on week 7... I can't believe I've made it this far.  My husband has been running with me now for almost 3 weeks, which is really really nice... oh and by running with me I mean running ahead of me and lapping me about 3-4 times.  He'll slow down every once and awhile to run with me but I seriously run so slow I think it's harder for him to run with me than to just smoke me.  He's trying really hard to do this with me and honestly I don't care if he's next to my side when we run - I'm just glad he's there with me.  It actually helps to have someone push you - especially when you're doing something you don't love to do.

I like all my other exercising but running is not my favorite.  What I do like about it though is it's a quick exercise that burns a lot of calories fast :)  What I don't like is... well the act of running LOL.  No, all kidding aside... I love that it's been pushing me.  BUT my knees are really starting to hurt.  So at this point... I'm hoping I can just get through this 5k without having to quit because they hurt so bad.  FYI - it's been a tough couple of days on them (I may just be out of sorts right now).

At this time in the game, I'm running 25 minutes... now if I haven't mentioned this before I will now.  I've never run 5 minutes at one time until training for this 5k.  I've always said I hate running, I can't run, it hurts (which it does... or is just starting to) and I just can't do it.  I remember in High School having to run the mile... I swear I couldn't even run 5 minutes in a row.  I probably covered more ground each time I actually ran than I do now but I couldn't sustain that speed.  So I'm just super thrilled with my progress and can't wait to see how I do in the 5k.

Well... here's to making this next week WAY better than the last.  I need to get myself back to water aerobics, continue my running and hopefully mix in a video tape or two as well.

I can't wait until I'm Healthfully Ever After!
